           This week, I received feedback on my portfolio after presenting my project in class. I was very pleased with the review I was given, I believe a lot of things I did and didn't notice were pointed out and they will allow me to polish up my portfolio nicely. Many of my peers complimented my portfolio, especially the shot when the group of boys bumped into Troy and the phone fell out of his hand, which I was happy to hear. My main constructive  criticism I received was that the beginning scene is a bit awkward and long, or that it feels very scripted. Unfortunately, I have put myself in an abnormal situation with the scripting of the film. If I make him sound too scripted, it might feel unnatural and and awkward to the audience, but if I make the language more casual, it could be argued that I'm stereotyping the character based on his race.             A s I  am  progressing in my portfolio, I find myself  running into a lot of problems trying to cast my film. I  did not   consider  the fact that I made the characters incredibly unlikable  while writing,  and that most people  would not  want to play such controversial roles, especially not an adult. I also am having  a tough time  finding my main character, the people I do know that could play the part  are not   interested .  There are not many African American teenagers in the classes that I take, making it difficult to find willing and capable participants .
